We have completed golf sim installations across the UK, from straightforward garage fit outs to complex bespoke builds that took months to plan and execute. Every project is different, but some stay with you longer than others.
These three are among our favourites. Not because they were the most expensive or the most technically demanding, but because of what they meant to the clients and how they came together. The best way to describe them is to let the clients do it themselves.
Sheffield: A Log Cabin That Was Done Right First Time
The Sheffield project was a log cabin build, and from the client’s own words, the whole process was straightforward from start to finish.
The enquiry came in through the website form, was followed up with a quick call, and a site visit was arranged shortly after. From working with clients across the country, we know that a smooth start to an enquiry sets the tone for everything that follows. Sheffield was a good example of that.
The build ran over two weeks. The first fix took three days in week one. The team returned the following week and completed the fit out over another three days. The client described the installation team as “awesome” and told us he still recommends GSR to everyone who asks. He has since sent several clients our way.
What stands out about this project is how quickly the client felt at home with the setup. In the first couple of weeks he had questions about how to get the most out of the room, and Chris walked him through everything over WhatsApp video calls. That kind of aftercare is something we take seriously on every installation, not just the big ones.
In our experience, log cabin builds work better than garage conversions for clients who want the room to feel entirely their own, because the structure is designed around the simulator from day one rather than adapted from an existing space. Sheffield is a good example of that done well.

Essex: A Bespoke Build That Became Something More
The Essex project was the most complex of the three. The client had a space at the end of the garden he wanted to transform into a combined gym, kitchen, golf simulator, and toilet. That scope meant the project naturally took on a life of its own during the planning stage.
Matt visited the site in person early on, which made a significant difference to how the project developed. From working with clients on bespoke builds, we’ve found that a face-to-face conversation in the actual space produces a clearer brief than any number of emails or phone calls. The client described the communication throughout as excellent and genuinely helpful at every step.
Josh led the installation team on site. The project involved coordinating subcontractors for plumbing and water supply, and GSR managed the relationship with a landscaper working on site at the same time. The client did not have to get involved in coordinating between trades. That is something we handle as a matter of course on complex projects, and it made a real difference here.
The aftercare on this project also demonstrated something we are proud of. A frozen pipe burst internally after handover and caused water damage to the simulator room. That was not a fault on our part, but we responded immediately, assessed the situation straight away, and had the room fully back up and running within three weeks. The client told us that response said everything about the kind of company we are.
His words at the end of the project: “Everything I envisioned for this space, it has become.”

Stockton-on-Tees: A Garage Fit Out Delivered With Real Care
The Stockton-on-Tees project was a garage fit out, and it stands out for reasons that go beyond the installation itself.
Ben visited the site within four days of the initial call. The client told us Ben gave him multiple options and never pushed the most expensive product. He was sold something completely suited to his needs. That is exactly how we approach every site visit, and it is worth saying plainly: recommending the right thing for the client is more important to us than recommending the most profitable thing for us.
The installation team arrived at 7:59am on the Monday they were due. During the fit out, the team noticed the drawing was eight inches out, corrected it themselves, and got on with the job without making it a drama. That kind of attention to detail is what separates a professional installation from a rushed one.
The client was going through a difficult personal time during the project, having lost his daughter. He told us that Ben simply took everything off his plate, designed the garage, and handled it all. He said he had complete trust in Ben and the team.
Aftercare was equally strong. The client sent Jack a text on a Saturday evening with a question. Jack called back within five minutes and remotely logged in to sort it. The client manages 180 people in his own business and told us that every single person he dealt with at GSR had been exceptional.
We’ve found that the clients who feel most looked after are not always those with the biggest projects. They are the ones where the team paid attention, adapted to the circumstances, and delivered without fuss. Stockton-on-Tees was exactly that.

What These Three Projects Have in Common
Three different locations. Three different room types. Three very different sets of circumstances. But a few things ran through all of them.
The site visit mattered. In every case, meeting the client and seeing the space in person shaped the outcome. We’ve found that projects which start with a proper site visit consistently go more smoothly than those that do not, because the brief is clearer and the equipment recommendation is grounded in reality rather than assumptions.
Aftercare was taken seriously. Whether it was a Saturday evening text, a WhatsApp video call, or a team responding to unexpected water damage, the relationship did not end when the installation did. That matters to us and it clearly matters to the clients.
The team showed up properly. Punctual, professional, attentive to detail, and willing to adapt when something needed changing. That is a standard we hold across every project regardless of size or location.

Conclusion
These three golf sim installations are favourites not because they were the flashiest projects on our books, but because they reflect what we care about. Listening properly, recommending the right thing, delivering a room that works, and being there when something needs sorting afterwards.
